This artwork reimagines machines through a unique process. AI-generated art is merged and then transformed with classical computer vision techniques typically used for image processing to create a striking pop-art aesthetic. Showcasing the interaction between established computer vision algorithms and novel generative AI tools, this piece explores the interplay between human and machine creativity and the future of art.
Through the Reimagined Machines project, the artist wishes to showcase the potential of human creativity when combined with machine intelligence. Taking robots as an example, which sit at the convergence of technology, art, and design, the artist generates prompts that contain feature words that can be randomized, resulting in robots with different features and various personas, tuning the parameters of the thresholding algorithm further hides or reveals various parts of the robot, giving natural illumination effects. By presenting machines with distinct personalities, the artwork challenges the viewer to reconsider the boundaries between artificial and organic, inviting a dialogue on the evolving relationship between humans and machines while conveying the diverse roles they might play in our lives in the near future.
